Busy March!

Been so busy for the last month that I've had no time for updates!

Sam and I finished prom dress shopping! She is going to look stunning! (excuse the poor quality photo...only can do so much with a cell camera!)

It is a deep purple color, laces up the back and is simply GORGEOUS! We had so much fun shopping for it!

Sam's birthday went well! Her dad and I pitched in and bought her a new cell phone that she desperately wanted, her favorite aunts made her a pretty bracelet, my parents gave her a grab bag of stuff she's been wanting (and CASH! LOL), my sister bought her a tanning package (for prom) and her loving, adoring boyfriend bought her the most beautiful ruby necklace and a dozen roses! Young love...it's been so fun to watch! :-) Her birthday went well but I think she was disappointed in the small number of people that recognized her special day. I think her dad and I did pretty well making it the big deal that it was, but there's no erasing the sting when others forget. But she is sure enjoying being an "adult" now. LOL I miss being an 18 yr old adult!

I've been busy taking photos! My sister and I are putting together some photos that we've taken to be displayed (and hopefully sold!) in a local studio! We're very excited to have this opportunity! Here are two of my current favorites;

Ali had a busy month as well! A concert at school, fine arts night, conferences, field trip to the PAC, and I took her to see Alice in Wonderland! You have to see this movie! Worthwhile money spent, in my opinion!
April looks to be just as busy as March. I've returned to work, Sam is wrapping up her senior year, and Ali joined the grade school's version of cross country running. And of course we are looking forward to enjoying the upcoming warm spring days! Bring on the sunshine!!
Hope you all have a great spring!

Hawaii!

Well I think I'm finally back to my normal routine enough to post about my fabulous vacation! I can't think my parents enough for bringing my sister and I along to enjoy that beautiful island with them! They've been there a few times, first for Tracy and I!

Happy to report that Sam did a fantastic job with Ali and the house! She is such an awesome daughter! I'm so lucky! :-) Ali was happy and well cared for and my house was CLEAN! AND there were still groceries left in the house and some cash left! Wow...she has certainly proved to me she is responsible! So proud! :-)

So Hawaii; we went to Oahu and stayed on Waikiki beach. Oh my GOD! Gorgeous! Fabulous! We landed late at night, so waking up the next morning was amazing! This was our first view;
We did so many things during the course of our 10 days there. Dole plantation, Pearl Harbor, Manoa Falls hike (the rain forest where they film Lost), Moped rides up Diamond Head, Luau, Waimea Falls hike (absolutely beautiful botanical garden!) snorkeling in Hunauma Bay, Sunset on North Shore, boogie boarding in Waikiki! We had a jam packed week, and somehow none of us killed each other. We had a great time, lots of laughter, yummy food, and FUN! The unbearable long flights getting there and back is for the birds, but worth the 13+ hours of travel! I took over 1100 photos, and all were pretty large and would take FOREVER to upload on here, so if you want to see some of the fabulous things I was able to capture with my camera, just head over to my Facebook.

Tracy and I were armed with new DSLR's for the trip, and we had an absolute blast taking photos! My kids loved them all, and Sam told me I need to print a few of the floral photos and hang them in my house. Best compliment I could have ever received! I love how supportive and loving my kids are!

Next on the agenda; Getting Ali ready for her spring orchestra concert (first with her cello!) and Sam has a busy spring! Prom (we started dress shopping and think we found the perfect gown!) and graduation. She is also trying to decide exactly what she wants to do for school this fall. It's for sure happening, she just isn't positive where, or for what! LOL

Jake is staying out of trouble, as far as we all know! (LOL Young adult and his bachelor pad!) But he's a good son and texts or calls me a few times a week, and has dinner with the girls and I once a week. At least I know he's eating something other than burgers and pizzas! LOL We miss having him around, but he's enjoying being on his own. Mr. independent since he was pretty young, so this doesn't surprise me a bit! I was the same at his age.

So that's my life right now. Things are much better this year! We are all happy, healthy, and grateful for everything we have!

Stay tuned for pictures of the birthday girl (Sam is 18 on Saturday!) and her prom dress!

What's been going on?

Xmas, new year's and a birthday! Exciting couple of weeks!

Xmas was wonderful with my kids, as usual! They got pretty much everything they asked for. I'm enjoying spending time with my kids as they get older. So awesome to see the adults they are becoming! And ali is always fascinating! LOL

2 days after Xmas, Jake got to spend time with grandpa at the Packer game. They had a blast watching the Pack kick the Seahawks butts! :-)

New years was fun for all. Jake had a party (which I won't discuss!!) and Sam had fun being invited there. Ali had a friend spend the night, so we made homemade mini pizzas and went swimming, followed by games and a movie!

Ali had a great 10'th birthday! An evening of family, lots of awesome gifts (including her first digital camera!) cake and ice cream. The next day she had a great bday party at the complex pool and party room with 6 of her friends. She has lots of cool gifts and a VERY exhausted mom! LOL

So far, 2010 has started out wonderful! Next, Hawaii here I come!!!!!
